Ithaca Darwin Day 2009 Events
Darwin Day is an annual, international commemoration of the birthday and ideas of Charles Darwin. Since 2006, the Paleontological Research Institution and its Museum of the Earth, in collaboration with Cornell University and Ithaca College, celebrate Darwin Day in Ithaca, New York, with a five-day series of panel discussions, film screenings, speakers, and workshops, aimed at increasing awareness of Darwin’s theory and its relevance today, in the Ithaca community and beyond.

“Charles Darwin: After the Origin” Opening Lecture

President Emeritus Frank Rhodes, noted Darwin scholar, will give a lecture in Goldwin Smith Hall to celebrate the opening of the exhibition “Charles Darwin: After the Origin”. A reception in the Hirshland Gallery in the Carl A. Kroch Library will follow the lecture at 6:00 pm.
